Veggie pita pizza (made in an air fryer)

 Veggie pita pizzas (made in an air fryer).  For this recipe you can use whatever toppings you want on the pizza.  Omit those that don’t fit with your diet, or change them up depending on your preferences.  For high protein version you could add pepperoni or cooked meats.

This is a quick and easy recipe and the thing I like the most is that everyone can top their own pizzas how they want them, so it is an easy to please everyone kind of recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Whole pita bread, cut in half to make two rounds (use a low protein pita)
  • 2 Tbsp Pizza sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 Cup Sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 Cup Thinly sliced green bell peppers
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped red onion
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded mozzarella cheese (use low protein cheese)
  • 1 tsp Grated parmesan cheese (use low protein Parmesan cheese)
Directions:
  1. Preheat air fryer to 370 degrees.
  2. Arrange pita (rough side up) in a single layer and spread with pizza sauce, toppings and cheese. 
  3. Cook one at a time for 5-7 minutes
