Today I made stew. In the photo the left is high protein and the right is low protein. I love making this for my family because it is done in a slow cooker, so you prep it, turn it on, and walk away. It does it all by itself.
For the high protein version I have beef stew meat, carrots, and potatoes with beef stew seasoning, add a small amount of water so they don’t burn
For the low protein version I have jackfruit, carrots and potatoes with beef stew seasoning, add a small amount of water so the veggies don’t burn.
You know these are done when the meat is cook in the high protein one and veggies are soft, and low protein one veggies are soft.
The seasoning I used for this is a powder, and has zero grams of protein (we count grams of protein and are on a simplified diet). So for this recipe we only count the potatoes,. Depending on how high your tolerance is you could add more or less potatoes…adjust ingredients based upon how much phe/protein you can have..
*Please remember to calculate the phes/protein in the recipes posted to ensure they will fit within you or your child’s diet. These recipes fit within my children’s diets, but they may not fit everyone’s needs. If they are too high in protein consider swapping out lower protein ingredients for the higher ones we have listed.
